03/13/2008 - 12:00pm
03/13/2008 - 1:00pm

Who: Families of Alaskan children and youth facing social, emotional and behavioral challenges and all of those concerned about helping

What: A chance to learn about services and programs that might be useful to you and your family, a chance to talk together about challenges and solutions, a chance to make your voice heard about how the system can best serve you and your family. Please join us.

December 13, 2007:     Sally Donaldson, Counselor at Dzantik’i Heeni Middle School in Juneau, will talk about Holiday Highs – Ways to cope with the challenges that holidays bring and what you can do to make holidays positive for your whole family.

January 10, 2008:       Questions and answers among us as parents. What have we tried that is working or not working in raising our children and adolescents. Peer Navigators will be on-line, as well.

February 14, 2008:      Bring the Kids Home quarterly meeting – join us on line as a part of the meeting - ask a question or tell the committee about your experience. In particular, have the services changed for your child in the past year? Are you getting access to Individual Services Agreement (ISA) dollars to pay for some specialized services on your child's treatment plan? Is it easier to have your child's need met at school (IEP, accomodations, reduced suspensions)? Is your child or adolescent getting services your family needs? Join us with your information and hear from the committee directly.
