Alaska Medicaid Services and how to use DenaliKid Care & Medicaid

This booklet is developed by the State of Alaska to help you understand available programs, if you are eligible and how to effectively use the coverage.  Your child can be eligible to have their medical needs (including psychiatric)  paid for through:  
  •  Denali KidCare base -based on their parents' income or
  • Denali KidCare or Medicaid based on the child's own income or the child  being out of the home for 30 days or more
  • TEFRA -  based on the child having severe disabilities or special medical needs and the parents' cannot pay for the treatment  (parents' income does not count under TEFRA)
