AYFN YouthMOVE-Alaska Coordinator - Anchorage
AYFN is looking for a Cordinator to mobile and sustain a network of Alaskan youth up to 25 years old to address policy issues related to children and teen mental health in treatment services, education and in the community. Experience with peer support and positive youth development. This person must be enthusiastic, willing to use the telephone and electronic media to stay in touch with youth and young adults throughout the state. AYFN has a position open for a Peer Navigator in the Northwest Arctic area.
AYFN is hiring energetic, upbeat part or full time Peer Navigator. Qualifications for the position include experience utilizing behavioral health systems of care with your child or youth, the ability to advocate, educate and support parents and youth with behavioral health challenges, interact positively with family members and professionals in the community, and a willingness to empower youth and family members to be equal partners with professionals who provide services. Computer literacy or the desire and ability to learn are a plus. The successful applicant will be provided 80 hours of peer navigation training. Salary DOE, hours are flexible.
The successful applicant for thise positions must have experience as a caregiver or parent of a child (0-24) with a behavioral health issue and provide a resume and a cover letter answering the following question: "What personal experience(s) prepares you to help youth and other parents?" AYFN is also seeking a person to be a part of the Anchorage childcare team during our support groups and classes.
Classes are from 6 pm until 8 pm on weekdays and from 10am - 2pm on Saturdays. Preparation, debriefing and training time adds up to 1 additional hour for each clss.
