The mission of this website, created by Maria Abinader, a Support Parent and Peer Consultant for the Statewide Parent Advocacy Network (SPAN), for Latino families, is to share information, hope, guidance and resources with Latino families; to promote understanding of autism; to create a data base specific to autism; and to defend the rights of children and youth with autism.

FACING FOSTER CARE IN ALASKA Facing Foster Care in Alaska (FFCA) is a group of current foster youth and alumni that has formed to make improvements to the foster care system in Alaska.  Please contact shae@ayfn for any information.

The National family-run organization dedicated exclusively to helping children with mental health needs and their families achieve a better quality of life. We: Provide leadership to develop and sustain a nationwide network of family-run organizations. Focus the passion and cultural diversity of our membership to be a potent force for changing how systems respond to children with mental health needs and their families. Help policy-makers, agencies, and providers become more effective in delivering services and supports that foster healthy emotional development for all children.

This list provides professionals from a variety of disciplines to discuss the issues that arise when children are exposed to domestic violence and when child maltreatment and domestic violence co-occur. It is open to anyone interested in discussing the issues around these cases. The list is supported by a grant from the David and Lucille Packard Foundation and is part of our ongoing project to involve attorneys in efforts to improve practice in cases involving domestic violence and children.

This forum discusses efforts to improve the court process in child abuse and neglect cases and related proceedings. It is open to organizations and persons who are working with state court projects to improve the courts' handling of these cases. The forum supports the national Court Improvement Program which is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Children's Bureau. 49 state court systems and the District of Columbia participate in this program.
