Cultivating wellness and stability for Alaskan families within their communities, through peer-supported advocacy, education, and behavioral health services.
How We Help
We support families in voicing their needs and communicating with providers. We will attend any meeting or appointment with family members to assist in understanding and resolving problems. We work to help families refine their message and have a voice in the services provided in our community. We work to build relationships with policy builders and practitioners, to bring understanding of the family perspective and the unique needs of those involved in the behavioral health system of care.
Family navigators use their professional and lived experiences in the behavioral health system to guide and inform the families we serve. We assist families in learning about diagnoses, medications, state policies, child welfare and juvenile justice requirements, and healthy child development. We provide parenting classes, recovery classes, and abuse prevention classes. We rely on the Strengthening Families guidelines to help Alaskan families lead strong, healthy, safe, and productive lives.
We provide group and individual services to assist families in meeting their goals of wellness and stability. Support groups are provided for all ages and stages of life. Our navigation services provide personalized support focused on individual family needs. Families and navigators work closely together to design a plan to meet goals of recovery, wellness, and stability.
